Manny Botwe

I was born, raised and educated in South London. I attended a comprehensive school and went to Corpus Christi College Oxford, where I gained a First Class degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Prior to moving north with my wife and two daughters in 2015, I was Deputy Headteacher for Raising Standards at an Outstanding School in South Oxfordshire. My interests revolve around my beloved Arsenal Football Club, reading and listening to new music.

Having been the first in my family to attend university, I have a deep conviction that fantastic schools, ably led by brilliant and principled leaders, have the power to transform people’s lives and their circumstances.

I have been the Headteacher of Tytherington School in Macclesfield for 10 years and am currently the President of the Association of School and Colleges Leaders (ASCL) which represents 25,000 senior leaders across the country. I am a member of the Greenshaw Learning Trust which is a large MAT operating in the South of England and a trustee of Macclesfield College.
